Barbies. It makes me sad that the era of teddy-bears and cooking utensils were replaced by Hot-wheels, Transformers and Barbies. Now even they are replaced with iPads. Most of the little ones in my families are glued to the screens, be it watching Trolls or playing some game or the other on their iPad. And I can see it is low maintenance, the kids don’t run around, break stuff, scribble on the wall nor scream and bring the house down. But isn’t that what they’re supposed to be doing? ย I sure as hell can’t say much till I’ve got to manage a kid myself. They’re tiny little humans. What do you do with them? :O Well, I can go on and on about this topic, but coming back to where we started, Barbies.

I was a teddy bear and Lego kinda girl till I got my first Barbie from my dad’s sister. She is a doctor in the U.K and got me a Doctor Barbie! I loved it to bits ! It had a tiny stethoscope, coat and a medical brief with all those tiny hammer-type thingy that they knock knees with!? what ARE they called?ย  I made up in-numerous scenarios in my head and treated all my other toys with that Dr.Barbie.

My dad got my several Barbies later, but that Doctor one was my inspiration. I wanted to be a Doctor too. That ambition lasted till I knew I could become a singer ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย apparently that didnt last long eitherย ๐Ÿ˜›

What was your first Barbie / toy ? ๐Ÿ˜€ Do comment, I’d love to know!

This post is a part of my 2017 April A-Z Challenge where I give a shout-out to some of my major #throwback Childhood Memories ๐Ÿ˜‰ Do join in on the fun!
